Promoting security solutions in the Web3 environment is a major challenge, especially when users are constantly exposed to scams, vulnerabilities, and misinformation about self-custody.
Many still don't understand how a hard wallet works or underestimate the importance of keeping their private keys offline, resulting in poor asset protection and limited adoption of security devices.
In the case of Trezor, there was a need to clearly communicate the value of self-custody, the difference between online and offline security, and how the device offers real protection against digital threats.
Solution
To increase Trezor reach among Brazilian and Portuguese users, a strategy focused on accessible education, awareness, and content creation was implemented.
The main actions involved: producing educational content in Portuguese explaining how a hardware wallet works; creating posts, videos, and materials that translate technical self-custody concepts into simple and practical language; and providing ongoing explanations about common risks such as scams, phishing, and online attacks, reinforcing how Trezor mitigates these threats.
This approach increased product understanding, guided new users, and reinforced Trezor's role as an essential security solution in the crypto ecosystem.
Challenge
The main challenge was transforming complex concepts of digital security and self-custody into clear, didactic, and accessible content for users of different levels, from beginners to experienced investors.
Other challenges included: overcoming the initial resistance of users who still have fears or doubts about hardware wallets; continuously educating an audience accustomed to centralized custodial solutions, showing why controlling their own keys is fundamental.
Overcoming these challenges required consistency and a strong educational approach.
